BUBBLE BLOWING
Contest - Who can blow up a bubble the fastest; use 2 or 4 contestants at a time.
To make the bubble blowing harder; Give everyone two pretzel sticks to eat as they get on the bus. After they eat the pretzels the breading will be in their teeth, causing it to make bubbles harder. Variation to the game: who can blow the biggest bubble

Contest - Passing the balloon from front to back the quickest.
Contestants - One side of the bus against the other.
Variation to the game; Pass the balloon front to back alternating over the seat and under the seat.

SHIUR TRIVIA

Contestants - The entire Bus

TWISTER!
Group Size: bus load
Equipment: (a) medium sized colored circles, enough for each seat of the bus to have a set of 4 colors. (b) twister wheel (or home made wheel)
Rules: tape the colored circles to the back of each bus seat. Spin the wheel and have the campers follow the instructions, "right hand red", by placing their foot/hand on the colored circle in front of them. Continue spinning the wheel to see how long the campers can last holding up their limbs.
Comments: Depending on your bus driver, they may not allow the campers to put their shoes on the seats, have them take off their shoes. Make sure you stress that no camp rules may be broken during this game, for example, the campers must remain seated the entire time.

PARTS OF THE BUS
Group Size: bus load
Rules: the bus is divided into two teams (two sides of the bus)
Team one names a part of the bus; team two then has to name a different part of the bus…
this continues back and forth. When one team can not name a part, the other can go for "steal", by naming an un-named part of the bus. This can keep them entertained for a good while!!

TOILET PAPER RACE
Group Size: bus load
Equipment: rolls of toilet paper
Rules: The bus is divide into two teams (two sides of the bus). A roll of toilet paper is handed to the campers in the back seat. When the counselor says "go" the campers in the back seat pass the toilet paper to the campers in front of them, but hold onto the end of the roll. The paper is passed up from seat to seat, unraveling as it goes; the roll may not skip a seat, each camper must touch it
if the roll breaks the team must start again. The first team to have every camper touching the continuous roll of toilet paper, from the back to the front of the bus, wins.

I SPY
Equipment: list of objects/landmarks
Rules: In advance, prepare a list of objects and landmarks that may be seen from the bus. Divide the campers into groups by seat, or by row. Each group is handed a piece of paper with a list of objects/landmarks on it. When a camper sees something on the list they are to tell a counselor, who will give them a check for that object. The first team to have all of their objects checked wins.
Comments: If you know the route the bus is taking, you may decide on some special landmarks for the list.

PASS UP
Bus is divided into 2 teams. Call out random objects such as red earring, striped sock, green shoelace, yellow pony tail holder, friendship bracelet etc. The team who passes it to the front of the bus first scores a point.

UP & DOWN
The head counselor stands in front of the bus and tells everyone they have to say up & down with a number of 1 or 2. For example, they can say 1 up 1 down, 2 up or 2 down. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes they don't. The catch is that they have to figure out the pattern why they're right sometimes and wrong at other times... The trick is, as the HC is calling on kids to guess, she has either one hand up (and one down), two hands up or two hands down. At the time the child guesses, he has to acurately describe the position of her hands. The first child to figure out the trick / pattern is the winner!

98 bottles of beer on the wall

ALPHABET GAME:
Find the alphabet on signs or car license plates in order. This can go on for a while because some letters are hard to find.

BINGO:
You can play car Bingo with different makes and different colors of cars on premade cards.

TEACH SONGS:
You can sing or teach them songs along the way, play music and then have the words in small music books.

WATCH VIDEOS:
Only if you’re really desperate…

EXERCISE:
You can spend 15 minutes every hour or so doing seat exercises like they recommend on the airplanes. Turn you ankle ten times, turn your wrists ten times and so on.

OBSERVATIONS:
You can get a soft ball to throw around the bus and whoever catches it has to say the name of something that you are passing.

SCREWY SONGS:
Divide the bus into 4 sections. Start singing a popular camp song and tell each team that they have to change the tune of that song, fast to slow, slow to fast etc. Give them 5 minutes and each team has to sing their version.

DON'T FORGET!!!
There's no bus activity more worthwhile than Tzivos Hashem! Kids can keep themselves busy for hours with memorizing and getting tested!
Don't forget this integral part of Camp Gan Israel!
